By registering for RUN 001, I acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. Voluntary participation and risks

I am voluntarily participating in a recreational 3KM social or 5KM run/walk. Physical activity carries risks, including falls, collisions, uneven or slippery surfaces, traffic, weather exposure, dehydration and injury or illness, which may be serious. I understand these risks and accept the inherent risks of participating.

2. Health and ability

I am responsible for deciding whether this activity is appropriate for my health and fitness and seeking medical advice if uncertain. I will choose a suitable distance and pace, wear appropriate footwear and stop and seek assistance if I feel unwell or injured.

 

3. Safe conduct

I will follow event instructions, obey road rules, respect other path users and remain on the designated route. I understand that shared paths and public areas may remain open to others. Organisers may stop my participation if my conduct creates a safety risk.

 

4. Emergency assistance

If I need assistance, I authorise organisers to contact my emergency contact and arrange first aid or emergency services. Any charges imposed on me by medical or ambulance providers remain my responsibility.

5. Responsibility and legal rights

I am responsible for my own conduct and belongings. Acknowledging participation risks does not remove the organisers’ legal obligations. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.

6. Event changes

The organisers may change the route, timing or format, postpone or cancel the event where reasonably necessary for safety, weather or other circumstances beyond their control.

7. Registration information and consent

I will provide accurate registration and emergency-contact details and ensure my emergency contact knows I have supplied their details. These details may be used to administer the event, send essential event information and respond to emergencies.

Photo/video consent and consent to future marketing are requested separately and are not granted by accepting these terms.

8. Participants under 18

A parent or legal guardian must complete the parental-consent section of registration for participants under 18 and read these terms before providing consent. Photo/video consent for an under-18 participant must also be provided by their parent or legal guardian.

By accepting these terms, I confirm that I have read and understood them and agree to follow the event’s safety instructions.
